Derek SmithDerek D. Smith
Executive Vice President, Marketing and Product Management

Derek D. Smith brings more than 20 years of experience and an intense market focus to his role as executive vice president, Marketing, for GHX. Leveraging significant leadership and broad industry experience, Smith leads ongoing corporate strategy development, strategic marketing, product marketing and corporate communications functions, and is responsible for propelling GHX to envision and create the healthcare environment of the future. Smith’s teams are responsible for generating programs that increase demand for all GHX business lines, assessing and targeting key customer segments, and building the company’s brand and customer awareness.
  

Prior to joining GHX in 2010, Smith served as executive vice president for DGFastchannel, with responsibility for sales, product, operations, engineering, software development, infrastructure, finance and strategic planning for two separate organizations, Unicast and Pathfire. Previously, he was senior vice president, content markets for Level 3/Wiltel Communications, where he led the sales and commercial activities for a business unit with profit and loss responsibility.
  

Before Wiltel was acquired by Level 3, Smith served as senior vice president and general manager of Vyvx, a division of Wiltel, as it pioneered and launched a full suite of high-definition products, which received industry awards and mass acceptance by the customer base. 

 

Smith holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Entrepreneurship/Finance from Baylor University.
